Miley Ray Cyrus, who was born Destiny Hope Cyrus, was brought up by Tish Cyrus, Billy Ray Cyrus, and her siblings at Thompson's Station in Tennessee. Her siblings include two half-brothers, half-sisters and half-brothers along with one younger sister, brother and a half-sister. The name she was given by her parents because they wanted to see her be successful. Her childhood nickname, Smiley, due to her infectious personality, was eventually shortened to Miley. Her maternal great-grandfather was Democratic politician Ron Cyrus. Cyrus attended Heritage Elementary School, Tennessee. Cyrus was able to move with her family to Toronto Canada at the age 8 years old. Cyrus' father Billy Ray was cast in Doc (2001). Cyrus began acting during this period. Her first performance was alongside her dad in Doc (2001). Additionally, she had part in Tim Burton's Big Fish (2003). Cyrus appeared as the leading part in Hannah Montana (2006). The show is about an adolescent who has a secret life of the world's biggest pop star. Her father was once again with her. The show went on to be a huge success. Hit records, tours that sold out and agreements with merchandise companies were also signed. Cyrus became a teen superstar. After the huge success of Hannah Montana (2006), Cyrus began to move into other roles - including playing Ronnie Miller in The Last Song (2010) as well as Lola on LOL (2012) along with Demi Moore.
