Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire, a quiet neighborhood located in the West Island of Montreal is one of those "sleepy" location. The people who aren't familiar with this term tend to think it's an island that's west of Montreal however, the West Island is home to all things from Lachine west to the Lachine city. Lachine west. Amanda Brugel was born there however her stay in the city wasn't long. Brugel was raised in Courtice outside Oshawa Ontario. Early ambitions were to become an expert dancer. However, a growth rate increased her height and she outgrew her dance partners she was able to have. The Toronto Star article revealed she's 6ft 1in tall in heels. When I outgrew my male partners I stopped. Some former dancers switch to acting and in Brugel's situation, it was a nudge from a high school drama teacher that led her in the right direction. A teacher suggested that she audition for an annual school production. The student tried it out, and ended up playing the leading role for the role in Anne of Green Gables. The Fine Arts Talent Scholarship led her to York University, where she completed her studies in Theatre and graduated with the Bachelors in Fine Arts in the year 2000. Since then, Brugel's been involved in more than 60 shows, smaller and large. One of the most memorable was when she landed the role of Rita in The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel is the only Canadian actress in Season 1 which was viewed only at times.
